First of all Best Wishes to all of you for a great New Year – “May your wishes for 2018 become a great recollection in 2019 !”
“2017 has been a rollercoaster” is the least I can say about last year.
Being a startup in a (very) competitive environment (Finance Interim Management), we had our ups and downs for sure. I feel blessed to have been able to meet so many inspiring & talented people.
In 2017 we targeted matching Temporary Assignments for Controllers, Finance & Accounting Managers and CFO’s with our Entrepreneurial Freelancers - and we will continue to do so in 2018.
End 2016 we also decided to bring highly qualitative and strong content-driven sessions to our different type of audiences: Customers/Prospects and Interim Managers.
And so we did. We organized +10 Breakfast / Dinner sessions for CFO’s – always with a clear focus on quality and strong content. Based on the feedback received, we will continue with these sessions in 2018 –> keep following us to stay in the loop.
I can’t stop smiling when reflecting back to the CFO sessions we had last year.
Kicking off with breakfast sessions facilitated by Interim Managers themselves around Cost Reduction & (de) Centralization of Finance. Real hands-on cases, directly from the field & interactive.
Later in Q1 we had 2 very interesting CFO dinners with Marc Coppens (CEO Yuki) and Rudy Aernoudt (European Commission, Curator TEDx Brussels, …) around 2 hot topics – “Disruption in Finance” & “The Future role of the CFO”. Both Rudy and Marc really inspired the attendees.
In June we had the kick off session “The CFO of the Future” moderated by Geert Peeters (CFO Metallo Group). During this event 4 key areas have been identified that will define the success of the CFO’s going forward:
1. Business Partnering
3. People Management
4. Strategic Direction
A “sanity check” on these 4 pillars was done during a CFO Breakfast – “The CFO of the Future: Through the eyes of a CEO” - with Erik Van Den Eynden (CEO ING). We did not reach full consensus yet had another qualitative and inspiring session ;-)
Later in 2017 Isabelle Van Iseghem (CFO Mediagenix) and Frank Geelen (CFO ISS) facilitated the sessions around Business Partnering and Technology.
2 other Breakfast sessions – “Alpro Testimonial: Finance meets HR” with Paul Denayer & Marc De Boom and “Demo Cashforce” with Nicolas Christiaen - showed us that strong speakers combined with great stories are always a good match.
Amongst all these CFO sessions we have been the proud co-founder of the 1st “Executive Day: Belgium meets The Netherlands” with Alex Van Groningen. What a talented group of speakers did we have: Bart De Wever – major of Antwerp, professor Rudy Aernoudt – Chief Economist at the European Commission, Bart De Smet – CEO Ageas, Jacques Vandermeiren – CEO Port of Antwerp, Niko Demeester – VOKA, Birgit Conix – CFO Telenet, Erik Van de Locht - CFO of ZNA, and many others…
Also for our Interim Managers we facilitated highly qualitative Workshops in 2017.
We believe in building Long Term relationships with them and therefore hosted sessions around Cashflow Optimisation (Cashforce), Excel/Powerpivot/BI Reporting, Leadership styles, Conflict handling & Sales meets Finance.
Based on the positive feedback we will continue organizing these workshops as well in 2018.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everybody that has moderated and been part of one of our sessions last year. THANK YOU!
We’re looking back to 2017 with a smile and are more than ever ready to tackle 2018.
For Q1 we have already locked 2 great speakers for our CFO of the Future sessions and our proud to be founding partner of the 1st CFO Day March 22nd. You can subscribe here
